Yarm Interior Design
Transforming a dated apartment within the stunning market town of Yarm that felt like a home away from home for our overseas client.
Vision:
We focussed on elevating the apartments existing architecture – including the dramatic double-height living area – while rethinking the layout to maximise both beauty and function. We needed to strip the apartment back to its bare walls and start all over again to ensure we delivered quality finishes throughout the space, not just in the furnishings.
Delivery:
Reconfiguring the layout unlocked greater functionality while elevating the home’s sense of luxury. Removing the kitchen wall allowed the new bespoke kitchen to take centre stage as an immediate visual statement. Layered textures of stone, timber and concrete are softly illuminated by concealed lighting, seamlessly integrated behind bespoke timber battens. This batten detailing continues onto the mezzanine, replacing the original balustrade to create a defining architectural feature. The result is a carefully balanced connection between levels, offering subtle separation while amplifying the drama of the double-height space.
A striking TV wall was designed to accentuate the full height of the room. Its rich timber finish introduces a deliberate sense of luxury, softened by feature lighting and plush upholstery that bring warmth and comfort to the space.
The mezzanine was reimagined as a versatile, multi-functional zone, combining an elegant entertaining area with a sunken bar and dining table, alongside a sculptural desk positioned to one side for working while enjoying views across the living space below.
Within the principal bedroom, partition walls were reconfigured to create a generous en-suite and walk-in wardrobe, complete with a bespoke dressing table, ensuring the master suite feels worthy of the apartment as a whole.
Together with the guest bedrooms and family bathroom, these spaces form a cohesive design that feels warm, refined and luxurious from the moment you enter the apartment.
